Conference

In September 2016, AVCAL hosted its 23rd annual alpha conference in Melbourne, attracting over 400 delegates from the private equity and venture capital industry and beyond. Attendees were treated to a varied program of speakers including General David Morrison AO, ‘engineer for humanity’ Dr Jordan Nguyen and collaborative economy expert Rachel Botsman.

Other speakers included industry experts and thought leaders such as MYOB’s Tim Reed, CSIRO CEO Larry Marshall and Future Fund Chief Investment Officer, Raphael Arndt. Panel discussions and informal networking lent itself to knowledge sharing and further understanding of how private equity and venture capital build better businesses and impact the broader economy.

The event concluded with the announcement of the AVCAL ‘Deal of the Year’ Award winners and the inaugural AVCAL Diversity Award.

The event was made possible thanks to AVCAL’s 2016 partners.

We’re gearing up for alpha 2017 with venues and dates to be revealed in the coming months.
