Did you know? Since 2005, private equity has invested in over 440 companies ranging from
retail shops, waste management services and earth moving operators, to aged care facilities,
outdoor advertisers and cinemas.
We have also been busy on the advocacy front with a submission to the Office of the Chief Scientist on breakthrough actions that the Government could undertake to improve the benefit realised from taxpayer-funded R&D; and a submission to Treasury on their discussion paper on "a more workable approach to fixed trusts" .
We are only a couple of days away from leaving for the Gold Coast, and our 19th annual conference. For those of you who haven’t registered, there are still some places available. We expect almost 500 delegates in what is shaping up to be a great program. This is a great opportunity to network and connect with those people who are core to both the VC and PE communities in Australia and beyond. The latest program is here and you can register via this link (note you must be logged in).
We are busy on the publication front and over the coming weeks we will be launching our Year Book and the Deal Metrics report. Make sure you subscribe to our dynamic updates so you’ll receive these as soon as they are uploaded. You can do this via your online profile.
Make sure you check out our new philanthropy partner, Future Direction Network, to learn more about the great work that they’re doing and how you can help.
I look forward to seeing many of you on the Gold Coast next week.
