Where is alpha 2014 held?

Central Pier, Shed 14, 161 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands, Victoria

How much is conference?

$2,860 including GST for Corporates (early bird: $2,775 including GST until 31 March)

$2,475 including GST for GPs, Partners, and Government (early bird: $2400 including GST until 31 March).

 

Attendees

How many attend the conference?

Conference numbers are capped at 450 delegates this year because of limited venue capacity and strong demand from LPs and GPs. It is advised that you have the number of people you wish to register from your organisation confirmed with all of their details ready for the registration opening date to avoid missing out.

What happens if I’m placed on the waitlist?

You are registered on the waitlist and need to pay for the place by credit card as usual. Then places are allocated on a best efforts basis as cancellations are received. Usually we find a place for everyone, but this is not guaranteed. Obviously if we cannot find you a place, we will refund you immediately without charge. Please bear with us, we do the best we can to allocate these as quickly as possible.

Do you provide the delegate list?

Yes, the delegate list is published at the conference and there will be two delegate list updates sent via email in July and August prior to the conference. The conference app will also feature the most up to date delegate lists.

 

Registration

What does the registration cover?

Your registration includes the following:

  • Attendance at all sessions
  • Cocktail function
  • Lunch, morning and afternoon tea on both days
  • AVCAL awards ceremony
  • AVCAL dinner.

Can I register more than one attendee on the one form?

Yes, and you can also register others even if you are not attending the conference yourself. There are a number of questions in the form in which we require specific individual preferences. Please ensure you have program attendance information ready for your group. See tips for being registration ready.

How many people can I register from our firm for the conference?

The number of people you can register from your firm depends on the type of membership held and is subject to availability.

  • Small Corporate, Government, Angel, Incubator Corporate Venture Fund and First Fund Raise membership, may register up to two member representatives.
  • Corporate members may register up to eight member representatives
  • Private Equity, Venture Capital, Institutional Investor and Not for Profit Super Fund firms are allowed an unlimited number of registrations
  • Partner members of AVCAL are covered under the terms of their individual signed agreements.

Can you register me over the phone?

All registrations must be made via our website (unless they are complimentary invitations). This ensures accuracy and that we capture your data correctly. Also included at the end of the form is an ‘I accept’ button for the Terms & Conditions agreement which you must read in order to register.

 

AVCAL Partners

I’m an AVCAL Partner, what special benefits do I receive?

Generally, these enquiries are best handled by our Member Services Executive or General Manager. Partners do not have some restrictions that ordinary members have in place, so please check accordingly.

I’m an AVCAL Partner, how do I handle the complimentary registrations?

You need to email the details through to AVCAL members@avcal.com.au for us to process from our end. All user profiles must be set up by you in advance, dietary requirements nominated and indicate whether you will be attending official social events you have been invited to by AVCAL.

I’m an AVCAL Partner. I believe I have a branded table for the official dinner. How do I invite delegates to sit on our table?

A delegate list with contact details is provided to you in July and from this you can choose who you would like to invite. You can do this if you wish, otherwise you may wish to invite people to sit with you throughout the conference period.

 

Travel and accommodation

Does the registration fee include accommodation?

No. The fees do not include any travel or accommodation. You can arrange accommodation via our online booking system. A link to these services will be available on your confirmation email.

Substitutions and refunds

I need to substitute one or more people. Is there a charge for this?

No. Substitutions will be processed from 9am, Monday 4 August 2014. They must be registered by AVCAL in writing and profiles for the substitute delegate must be made online via the AVCAL website using the 'subscribe me' button on the home page.

I need to cancel a registration. Is this possible?

Yes, but only up until 5pm on Monday 18 August, and must be completed in writing. A fee will be charged for administration and credit card charges of $120 including GST. Unfortunately after 5pm on Monday 18 August, no refunds can be given.
