State Partnership Act Amendments (24/04/03)

AVCAL is seeking amendments to the state limited partnership statutes that will provide institutional investors investing in Australian Venture Capital Limited Partnerships (VCLPs) with certainty concerning the limitation of their liability. These changes are imperative to ensuring that amendments to tax laws passed by Federal Parliament in December 2002 (the VCLP reforms) are successful in achieving their objectives.

AVCAL rejects IASB proposal for the expensing of employee options (14/03/03)

AVCAL believes that expensing employee options is inappropriate for private sector companies. Option valuations using market based methods lead to inaccurate reporting, cloud financial statement transparency, and diminish the ability of high growth companies to attract the best and brightest.
