Conference Registration
Conference registrations must be made via the AVCAL website, as
the information you provide is downloaded directly into our registration
software. This ensures that your information is entered exactly as you provide
it, and that all registration & payment
details are kept confidential.
All registrations are subject to AVCAL verification. You must receive a confirmation and tax invoice/ receipt to confirm your attendance.
***Registration Procedure***
1) To register for the AVCAL conference, you must be a registered user
of AVCAL. Click here to
become a registered user now, or continue if you have an existing username
& password.
2) Select the "AVCAL 2008 Annual Conference" from the calendar and
select "Register Online Now!"
Enter your username and password on the Login screen. If you have forgotten
your pasword, select "Send password to my e-mail"
3) Register your interest to attend AVCAL 2008 via the online registration form. All registrations must be made individually to ensure that all specific requests are recorded.
4) Your registration application will be verified by AVCAL secretariat
5) You will receive confirmation/approval of your registration and a tax invoice/receipt via email
(within 5 working days).
6) Your registration is only completely confirmed upon receipt of
full payment and in accordance with the cancellation terms and conditions.
If you do not pay your conference fees you will not be allowed entry
into the conference. Any delegate who registers, does not attend
and has not paid will, still be liable for payment.
7) AVCAL Annual Membership must also be renewed and paid for the 2008
- 2009 Financial Year in order to attend.
Registration to AVCAL 2008 includes:
A) Conference: $1630 (+ GST)
- Full access to all conference sessions
- 1 ticket to the Cocktail Party, Wednesday evening
- 1 ticket to the Annual AVCAL Awards Dinner, Thursday evening
- Morning and Afternoon Teas and Luncheons (Wednesday & Thursday)
Fees do NOT include accommodation or travel expenses. Please see Travel and Accommodation section for further details.
Conference registration is subject to the conditions below.
- Delegates must be financial members of AVCAL as defined by the constitution.
- Delegates agree not to stage competing events such as golf, dinners, luncheons etc during the conference.
- Delegates agree to have their company and name listed on the delegate
list which will be distributed to other AVCAL colleagues.
- Registration is restricted to paid up members of AVCAL for the 2008
- 2009 financial year.
- Regional Corporate, Organisation, Angel, Institutional Investor, Incubator membership allows two nominated member representatives to attend.
- National Corporate, Private Equity and Venture Capital Firms membership allows ten nominated member representatives to attend
- Substitutions may only be made in favour of people from the same member firm.
- Substitutions for individual or student members of AVCAL are not permissible.
- In the event that the conference is over subscribed, AVCAL reserves the right to allocate places on the wait-list in its sole discretion.

AVCAL reserves the right to alter all or part of this event. This may include
cancellation or changes to the date, venue, format, line up of speakers/presenters etc

AVCAL reserves the right to communicate all events in the manner, form and frequency to its members as AVCAL deems appropriate

Refusal of Registration
AVCAL reserves the right to refuse any registration at its sole discretion.
Cancellations, Substitutions and Refunds
All cancellations and substitutions must be received via email.
Delegates who send notification of cancellation before close of business on Wednesday 27th August 2008 will receive a refund minus a $350 + GST admin fee. This policy applies to all notifications cancelling conference registration.
Cancellations received after Wednesday 27th August 2008 will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
AVCAL can not be held liable for any costs or expenses, of whatever nature (such as hotel and transportation costs and expenses) incurred in connection with the conference for any participant who is prevented from attending for any reason (such as, but not limited to, illness).
There will be no substitutions or changes to registrations accepted prior
to Monday 4th August 2008. Substitutions or changes to registrations
will be accepted from 4th to 15th August 2008 with no admin fee incurred.
Substitutions or changes to registrations received from 16th August
to 12th September will incur a $350 + GST admin fee.
Substitutions can only be made in favour of people from the same member firm. Attendance at the conference is restricted to members only.
Substitutions for individual or student members of AVCAL are not permissible.
No substitutions or changes or changes will be accepted
after Friday 12 September 2008.
Payment
All fees and charges stated in the registration form include GST.
Payment for registration may be made by:

Registrations will not be completely confirmed until payment is received.
If you have not paid your conference fees you will not be allowed entry
into the conference. Any delegate who registers, does not attend and/ or
has not paid will still be liable for payment.
AVCAL reserves the right to cancel any applications/registrations in the event that payment is not received within 28 days from the date of your tax invoice.
AVCAL can not be held liable for any costs or expenses, of whatever nature

with the conference for any participant who is prevented from attending
for any reason (such as, but not limited to, illness).
A tax invoice will be issued via email within 5 working days of registration.
Please contact AVCAL if
you have not received confirmation and your invoice within this time.

Climate
The Gold Coast region enjoys a comfortable sub-tropical climate all-year round. In early Spring, temperature averages are 15-25°C (59-77°F) with sunny days followed by balmy evenings
Special Assistance
Assistance is available to delegates with special requirements. If you have particular dietary, mobility or other needs, please make mention of this in the special needs section of the registration page.
Speakers
AVCAL reserves the right to alter the program and/ or speakers
at its sole discretion.
Conference Presentations
Subject to speaker permission, conference presentations provided
by speakers will be made available on the AVCAL website at the conclusion
of the conference.
Delegate List
Subject to privacy rights, a soft copy of the delegate list (including all contact details) will be available to Conference Sponsors. A delegate list (without contact details) will also be made available to all attendees. The delegate list will be made available upon registration at the conference and will NOT be made available to attendees prior to the event.
