Invitation to AVCAL 2005

I invite you to join me and other industry colleagues at AVCAL 2005, our 12th annual conference, to be staged on Queensland ’s Gold Coast, on September 28th & 29th.

This year, our speaker line up includes Professor David Swensen, whose book, Pioneering Portfolio Management, is considered to be a leading work in its field.

Some subtle differences from last year’s program include:

1. Moving the award presentations to one of the day sessions

2. Reducing the time allocated to the breakout sessions & staging another Plenary Session

3. Staging an optional 9 hole golf round for those who don't wish to play in the 18 hole competition

We have block booked accommodation and flights. If you make your travel arrangements early, you will have maximum choice. Better still, if you book and pay for registration and accommodation by 29th July, you will be eligible to win our early bird prize, being 3 nights at The Lizard Island Resort, including return airfares.

Please note that this is a Members Only event. You must therefore renew your membership of the Association for the 2005-2006 FY in order to attend.

This year, we have decided to support a charity in the lead-up to the conference. We will raise funds by selling tickets in the raffle of a magnificent painting by the well known indigenous artist, Ningura Napurrula. The work measures 153cm x 183cm and was selected for us by Michael Reid and Wally Caruana. Wally is a former curator of indigenous art for the National Gallery of Australia. The lottery prize will be drawn at the conference.
