Steve Merlicek is the Chief Investment Officer of Telstra Super Pty Ltd, since January 2000.

Telstra is the main Telecommunications company in Australia and is Australia ’s largest company and the largest corporate superannuation fund in Australia in terms of funds under management, with close to A$8 billion of assets.

In 2004 Telstra Super was named by Global Money Management as Pension Fund of the Year for the Asia Pacific region in recognition of its innovative approach to investing and as a result of its strong investment performance.

Steve has had over 12 years specific portfolio management experience in International and Australian equities running actual portfolios. From 1992 to 1999 he ran the Telstra and Small Cap portfolios, which significantly outperformed its benchmark and had input into running other internal portfolios.

Steve has been with Telstra Super Pty Ltd since 1992, and prior to this has worked as a Portfolio Manager, an Economist and a regular soldier with the Australian Army.

Steve has a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Monash University Melbourne and a Master of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Melbourne. Steve is also an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia. (A.S.I.A.)
