Age: 43

Married to Sue Brough. Three Children: Thomas, Sarah and James.

Enlisted in the Army as a Private in 1979. Selected for Officer training in 1981 at Portsea. Graduated in December of that year as a Commissioned Officer.

Served in Townsville, Sydney, Brisbane and Singleton.

Represented the Army in Hong Kong, Canada and Papua New Guinea.

Resigned from the Army in January 1988 with the rank of Captain.

Elected to Federal Parliament, March 2 1996 as the first Federal Member for Longman. Re-elected at Federal Election October 1998, 2001 and 2004.
