    Friday, 18 November 2016: Australian venture capital funds raised a record $568 million in FY2016 with investment jumping 50 per cent to $347 million, according to the latest Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL) and EY Yearbook. Collectively private equity and venture capital raised $2.74 billion in FY2016, slightly down from $2.87 billion in FY2015.   • KKR Funding Helps Expand Sundrop Farms Down Under

    Sundrop Farms, backed by global investment firm KKR, today launched a new, 20-hectare facility in Port Augusta where it will grow more than 15,000 tonnes of sustainable produce, through innovative arid-climate agricultural techniques. Growth capital from KKR helped construct the $200 million state-of-the-art greenhouse capable of producing 15-30 times more fruit and vegetables per hectare than conventional field production, with minimal environmental impact.
