Dear AVCAL Colleague,

AVCAL's focus at the moment is on our up-coming suite of professional development programs. Our PE101 seminar was sold out almost immediately and so we are running two extra programs in Sydney and Melbourne. We will soon be announcing a VC 101 program, to be aimed at entrepreneurs and technology transfer offices. The ESG program is going to be a very full day of presentations and workshop sessions. And of course it is only two months till the AVCAL annual conference. Although registrations are waitlisted, the usual changes to peoples' schedules mean that places will become available so it is worth registering for the waitlist.

Although the MIT legislation is sorted, AVCAL is still working on a number of policy fronts. The remaining tax issues are still being discussed with the Government. We are looking at the implications of the Cooper Report for our industry and what if any response we should formulate. We will be looking at the Board of Taxation's Review of Collective Investment Vehicles Tax Regime. And we are also in discussions with the Government on what support could be put in place to succeed the IIF program. Never a dull moment!

Kind regards,

Katherine
Chief Executive
