Dear AVCAL Colleague Latest Policy and Research News The latest mergermarket Private Equity alert. (AVCAL members only content.) In the last six months to June 09 the top 5 PE firms in Asia-Pacific invested over US$21b in 8 deals according to the recent mergermarket Monthly M&A Insider. (AVCAL members only content.) . The value of PE investments in Asia-Pacific during the second quarter of 09 is at its highest point since the third quarter of 08. $243m Allocated towards collaborative research and innovation $64m From the IIFF allocated to 11 fund managers AVCAL 2009 carbon-friendly initiatives On the drawing board We'll make an announcement shortly regarding UNPRI. We've had an expert panel prepare a submission to the AVCAL Council and we'll communicate the outcomes over the next few days. Our events and training programs are undergoing a revamp. We expect to do some face to face surveying of members over the next few months to ascertain market demand so that we can continue to deliver the very best programs for you. The main changes relate to information that is required to be kept for specific purposes (the addition of section 5(e), and clearer flexibility in setting the expiration period (replacing the words "2 years" in section 8).
