My experience as a private equity CEO
3rd Feb 12
This article by Armand F. Lauzon Jr. in the Wall Street Journal looks at a generally unseen side of private equity – the perspective of the CEO of a private equity-backed portfolio company. Mr Lauzon, currently the CEO if Sequa Corporation (backed by the Carlyle Group), talks about his experiences as the CEO of three companies owned by the Carlyle Group. Mr. Lauzon contrasts his value creation experience in these companies to the often negatively and wrongly perceived connotation of the private equity industry as being corporate raiders.
Mr. Lauzon served as the CEO of three Carlyle backed companies: John Maneely Company, Sequa Corporation, and Firth Rixson.
